Carlos Vaz
Carlos Vaz is a real estate investment expert who has taken part in over $2.5B of real estate transactions. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CONTI Capital where he oversees strategy, company culture, and business development.
As a Harvard Business School alumnus (OPM 50) and a recognized thought leader in the multifamily industry, Mr. Vaz is a sought-after speaker at many conference events such as MFE (Multifamily Executive), Crittenden Multifamily, Marcus & Millichap, IMN Conferences, among others. His subject matter expertise has also allowed him to contribute to the industry and his peers through various professional organizations. Mr. Vaz serves as a board member for the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and Harvard Club of Dallas, and he is an International Advisory Council Member for Fundação Dom Cabral, one of the world’s leading business schools. Additionally, he is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), the Real Estate Council of Dallas, among other organizations.
An avid learner, Mr. Vaz is constantly reading and taking additional courses as a way to pursue growth and learning. As an example, he completed Stagen’s practice-based Integral Leadership Program (ILP); a 52-week high accountability experience focused on Leadership, Execution, and Impact. Another course taken at Cambridge Enterprise Group with Professor John Davis was on corporate and family boards and its relevance to the development of companies efficiently. He is also in the process of writing his first book.
Mr. Vaz has been recognized with numerous honors over the course of his real estate career. He has been named a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, one of Real Estate Forum Magazines’ 35 Rising Stars in the Industry under the age of 35, to the Dallas Business Journal’s 40 under 40 list, and highlighted as a Most Admired CEO. As a leader, he has helped CONTI earn a place on the Inc. 5000 list seven times, the Dallas 100 list eight times and the Middle Market 50 list five times.
