My Story

Turning $300 into $1B in transactions
Carlos was born into a humble Brazilian household in Minas Gerais. One of nine children, Carlos’ father was a local butcher and his mother, a homemaker. Together, they led by example and instilled the principles of family, hard work, discipline, and values into the children’s everyday lives. These principles grounded the family, bound them together, and provided Carlos with an unrelenting drive to pursue challenges, overcome obstacles, and improve the lives of others. These pursuits would lead Carlos to the U.S. at the age of 23 for an unpaid law internship.

My Purpose

I’m driven by my passions
My passions compel me to be at my best each and every day. I owe that to myself, my family, my teams, my investors, and all those I’m fortunate enough to call “friend”. What I’ve discovered is that there is always something to learn and some way to be better. Sometimes one’s drive, focus and determination is enough to forge the way ahead. Other times, it is one’s humility, gratitude, and willingness to be vulnerable and learn. In the end, we can all be a little better than we were the day before and, if we try, we can bring others along with us.
